After working for over 10 years as an attorney in Los Angeles, I decided to take a break from the law. I quit my job and came to Guatemala to study Spanish. I enjoyed the country so much I decided to stay. That is when I began teaching English.
In my classroom experience at two schools here, Colegio Boston and Educare, I have taught all elementary grades. I enjoy using a variety of teaching methods – from traditional grammar workbooks to cooking in the classroom. I find that a stimulating presentation of the English language to the students not only maintains their interest, but effectively implants the idiom in their minds. My teaching duties have included developing the curriculum for my school, choosing textbooks, and creating evaluation methodology, among other tasks.
I have also had extensive work here in Guatemala. I was the private English instructor for the president and upper-level management of Gran Pine, a large clothing factory here in Guatemala.
I enjoy teaching the English language. I am a flexible and open-minded teacher, ready for students of all levels and abilities.
