St. Thomas University Human Rights Internship
Duties included planning and hosting the annual festival for the official day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination in Canada. This included talking and preparing English as a second language classes to participate in the festival, recruiting performers, vendors and artists, arranging school visits, designing pamphlets, literature and advertisements for the festival as well as information regarding human rights in general, delegating tasks to students, providing information and literature on human rights and rights protection, speaking with news crews and newspapers regarding the event and in regards to human rights awareness in Fredericton on a whole, arranging the appearance the Governor General and the Mayor, and acting as the master of ceremonies. I also participated in many Human Rights conferences throughout the duration of the internship.
